Porsche Crest 928 Seats

I just got a '87 928S4. I missed a few things when I looked it over. Nothing big, but just inexperience with this car. I have a problem with the passenger's electric seat. I put it all the way back to see how far it went and now it won't go back up. Nothing. The other buttons also seem tempermental, not always working right away when pressed. Anyone out there have any similiar experiences or suggestions. I also was trying to figure out now to get the leather off of the seat back in order to get the the motor, thinking I could manually put it back up. Anyone know how to get the leather off as well?
Thanks

Many have done this! It's just many won't admit it!

As for the seat, are you talking about Forward, Backwards, Up, Down, Tilt ?

In the mean time, look though the Owners Manual, there is a section on moving the seat manualy. The wrench should be in the tool kit (chrome swival looking thing with an allen wrench on one end).

Use the wrench as mentioned while someone is pushing on the back of the seat.

it's probably not the motors but the switches. Not sure if they are built the same as my 83's (think they are) but they are known to get cruddy inside and either work intermittently or stop. Easiest way to test if it is the switch is swap it with the one from your drivers side. You can take them apart and clean them easy enough...just be careful with the little roller balls that are inside...just get them repositioned correctly. In all, it's a job that you can do under 30 minutes.
