928 specialist in the seattle area

I've searched the forum, and didn't see an answer to this question:

I'm looking at a 928S. It needs some work and is priced accordingly. I have the "essential buyer's guide" by Hemmings, and will get a PPI.

What I don't know is where to take it. I've heard good things about several Porsche shops in and around seattle, like Squire and Gerber. But from my research, I understand that a lot of people *can* work on these cars, but a great 928 specialist is a godsend. Is there one in the area?

The car is actually closer to Tacoma, so if there is one there that could do the PPI, that would be save some travel time, and would be good to know as well.

Thanks!

There's a fellow up there by the name of Lief (Johnson?) in the area who's supposed to be the man in the know. Strong local group up in your area who use Yahoo! groups:

Great bunch of guys who can also help with purchase advice.

If you are in the Tacoma area, then you might want to check out Too Quick's German Auto -- 112th Street East near Pacific and HWY 512. Chuck has does all the work on my 911sc as well as my 928.

Thanks to all for the advice. I had trouble getting my schedule to match with the seller's to even get a first look at the car, and in the mean time, fell in love with a nice 911 at a good price and decided to snap it up. I have no regrets. Perhaps a 928 will be in my future, but for a little while, I'll be enjoying the hell out of "Judge Fudge", a 1977 911S in Bronze.

I do think that the 928 sounded like a pretty fair price for a 928 that would need a little work. 82, 97K miles, and still listed on craigslist. http://seattle.craigslist.org/car/149501817.html

The guy was certainly up front about the things that would need attention. Besides what is listed in the ad, there is occasional idle problems, and he has no idea when the timing belt was last done, so it's probably time. I couldn't really assess how fair the price is without a PPI and estimates on the known problems, but you might want to check it out if you're looking for a shark.
