928 clock

does anyone know what it takes to install a analog clock in a 86 928s? I have the lame digital clock (I remember digital clocks being cool in the mid 80's but not anymore)

I want to install the later style analog clock that is rectanglar in shape- not the early round style. I am only interested in doing this if it is an easy fit. If the installation won't look factory installed when done, I probably won't do it.

thanks

Ithink that you can replace the console trim and clock with the later model parts to get a factory look without displacijng the other controls.

ugggh. maybe some gold 22's to go with the gold gauges. I'm sure some people like gold, but not me. I'm looking for more of a factory look- not pimped. I 'm looking to install a 90-95 928gt/ gts clock. the clock alone is over 300 bucks. maybe i can find one used.

m21 sniper, the ones in your car look like a factory setup. What are the 3 gauges? I assume clock, Bottle pressure, and a/f ratio?

They are mechanical VDO "Pilot" gages, Water Temp, Oil Pressure, Volts(the factory gages are notoriously innacurate, which my VDO gages have once again confirmed).

I started with an early round clock console piece i bought off ebay(perfect, cost me like $40 bucks), used that hole as a centerpoint, and cut two more 2 1/16" holes for the other two gages. There is plenty of room behind that panel for the various wires and hookups, so it works out quite well.

About the clocks, they have them in aluminum, brushed stainless, black, etc, etc. Jager engineering has all kinds of really nice 928 interior upgrades. Some of it is bling, some of it is extremely tasteful.

For instance you would probably like this nice leather covered replacement for the cheap-looking plastic shift plate:

At any rate, i aint getting a commision, so i've done enough pitching for them, lol.

I"m modifying my surround to accept the 924S clock, same as the jager clock but blk instead of the bling bling metal
the digital clock is a POS, I'm on my 3rd clock in 2 yrs in the S4 and they keep exploding... must be the warp drive!
