help w/instrument bulb replacement-84 928S

I cannot figure out how to replace the main lighting bulb( not warning lights ) on the bottom left side of my instrument panel! Can it be done without removing pod??? any tips would be appreciated! thank you.....jim

Best to remove the pod. It is not too hard to do. You Can access some of the lower bulbs by removing the lower trim covers and parcel shelf.

remove the pod. it isn't very hard to do.

928 int'l /tech tips (website) has a nice tutorial on this and other subjects as well.

while you have the instrument panel out, clean all of the wiring connections. be careful with the (plastic) circuit board, it is very fragile. also clean the light bulb connections on the circuit board.

I did mine in (including removal and reinstall) in less than 3.5 hours. I also installed red bulbs while I was at it. much easier on the eyes.
