Euro fuel map for a US LH on a Euro motor

The motor from my 84 Euro 928S AT is going into my US 83 5 spd, with the brains and wiring from a US 86, using chips with Euro fuel tables and hopefully leaving the US O2 sensor loop functioning.

John Speake can make the chips I think, only thing left is to decide on a flywheel. I can't use the AT flywheel I have, which has me thinking maybe this is a dandy time to try an aluminum flywheel from Carl.

aluminum versus steel equals quicker revs.

you may balance issue to contend with as well. If you are disassembling the engine prior to installing it in to the US spec car, you might spend the bucks to have the internals balanced with the new flywheel. Other have argued against this, as 928 engines seem to be balanced from the factory quite well. You, however, are changing things, so there is really no way to tell if your bottom end will be balanced? For my money, have it balanced---then you know where you're at.

Make sure the one you order is specific to the engine you are putting it on....Carl will know what to send you.

I haven't decided on opening up the motor or just swapping it and doing the easy external seals and intakes. I want it running asap, so I am leaning toward quick swap so I can see basically how I like the stock Euro motor.

A machine shop should be able to balance the new flywheel the same as the old one?

I also wonder if I shouldn't have jumped in on the ATI damper group buy.
