Nice looking 79 5 spd for $10k on ebay

Actually its $10k opening bid reserve not met, but it is a clean looking old 928.

OTOH 3k miles in the last 20 years, I would really love see what the next 3k involves.

Awsome looking survivor! Full leather too and in outstanding condition everywhere, even the drivers seat. Seems like alot of the leather seats, pre-'85, would literally come apart at the seams, but this one still looks new. This looks like an OB style lovers dream car to me. Curious as to what OB lovers will be willing to pay for a perfect example like this? I'll certainly be watching with interest.....

I've seen more "nice" OB's in the last month for sale than I think in the last year. Maybe a good half dozen on the market right now, some guy locally wants $17.5k for an 84 with 27.5k miles on it, but I don't see it happening. My guess is that 5% or less of 928 shoppers would pay in the neighborhood of $10k for an OB unless it was SERIOUSLY pristine and below 10k miles.

Sure wish I wasn't in that 5%.

Link to $17.5k 84 auto "garage queen", make an early xmas gift for your mechanic.

Yeah, I saw that red '84 your refering to on Ebay. Newport Beach, right? It's an awsome lookin' car too, but I would think there would be more interest in the '79 than an '84. My thoughts are either the oldest made or the newest are what people are willing to pay the big $$$ for. I may be wrong though.

Color means more to me than year, gold like the Weissach, but I don't think I could be that happy with the limited power in an early non Euro.

I understand the appeal of the 78/79, but its not for me, CIS is going to get more pesky to fix as time goes by. Realistically my 83 5 spd no sunroof is closer to what I want than anything I have found. 86.5 is growning on me, but not enough to want to switch out of the Euro camp.
