how much for the rear bumper cover? I need one for my poor 88. the hatch would be of interest as well. I suppose as well as a lock set. PM me when you get a chance.

As I was watching the film I was going to ask if that was Morgan having some fun on Cypress, but at the end of the film I see that it is.
Be careful on that hill, LOTS of police. Looks like fun though Paul. |

Morgan
Morgan's S is a quick car. He's got it running nice. Didn't see any cops, but most of the video has a bumped timeline (sped up) so we weren't going that fast...safety first. I was a bit worried getting busted for the donuts, that was 1/2 way between my place and Tofino...... in the rain I soaped my rear tires so they were pretty slick. When the soap spun off, the Kuhmos had exc grip.
The rear bumper cover, v/nice shape (It's a euro) $395 Packing??? may be up to 1.0 shop hours ($60) + shipping by say Fedex ground to back east $$ - we are West Coast. The hatch is pretty heavy $150 for it but risk of damage in ship is buyer's resp. the cost in selling that is the packing (2 hrs?) & shipping. Heads - I do have the heads $850 each, paid over $200 to have the heads cleaned and dressed/checked out by a machine shop. Comes with the valves in there. I have pictures of those - will try to post. Packing is easy (n/c) but they are heavy. Cheers, Paul |

sounds like "retail +" prices there
I wouldnt mind another set of heads, but i am not going to part with $1700 for pair. Last i checked the market was about $1000-$1200 for heads, your not including cams either. (Which really arent worth crap from an S4 anyway) Good luck with your parting, not sure how fast your going to get rid of this stuff though

Item Number : U928 104 014 06 Unit Price: $1,250.00 - no cams or valves...
Don't all the valves add up to a lot?? The cost to supply parts is the following: acquire parts car and transport (that was $8K, complete low miles '89) labor to dismantle pull, clean, tag and store recondition (as in the case of the heads) photos web list deal with customer rent, storage costs, utilities profit. Expectation on pricing is too low, so we won't be doing another parts car and i might just scrap the larger stuff that cost us $$ to store. that includes the engine.

Sorry Russ but I do have to agree with what Ryan is saying.
and not to be mean to Paul at all, but the prices that he asks are abit high. The other problem that I have with what he has just said from a buyers perspective is that he is wanting to charge labour, 1-2 hours, then he turns around and says that if it is damaged during shipping it is the buyers responsibility. That means he could charge a couple hours to package the things, at a high starting price, then ship it, and how he packaged it could fail and it gets damaged in shipping. Then it is the buyers responsibility and the shipping company will ONLY talk with the shipper as in there eyes it is the shippers problem. This could lead to a VERY bad situation IMO. I am close enough to Paul that I could drive over there and pick up items from him, and was going to do that in the past, but in talking to him I got the basic impression that he was not willing to negotiate on parts and it would be cheaper to order them out of the US and ship them than it would be to drive over there (2 ferries) and pick them up from him. |

This is why 928intl is able to maintain there business. For the odd person who parts out a 928 and doesnt have stacks of parts that if one they sell is bad they cant just send out another right away, the stardard practice is 50% of 928intl price, plus shipping. not 75% of 928intl price, plus a couple hours labour to package it (which 928intl doesnt even do as it is covered in the price of the part), plus shipping. So your rear bumper cover anyone else would list at $325 + shipping, no more. Because it is a harder to get part, maybe $400+ shipping. Anymore and people will probably just go to 928intl as if there is a problem with it, or not up to there high standards they can exchange it for a better one. Instead of return it on there dime for a partial refund. Or be stuck with a part that they cant use. |

garage9.com is a business, yes.. the parts are very good - willing to warranty them as well. you have to do everything up front to PREVENT sending out defective parts. each part can be tested or in our case known to be in running condition. this car was a driver, w/ a head gasket breach.
anyway just crunching some rough #'s there is still plenty left on the table. have most of the photos. What we are missing is a knowledgeable "parts manager". lizard - are you interested??

Thanks for the offer Paul, but I am not really interested in that.
But I am interested in finding a decent hood. I dont care what the paint or anything else is like, just that it is straight. Do you have one? It will be having a hole or two cut and bits added to it. I realise that you do have a business regarding this, and I am mearly playing the devils advocate here. :P If the car only had a HG issue, why not just replace the hg and sell? |

A shop or even a car lot that can't spend 3 months waiting for something cheap to turn up has few options for parts, but I suspect that 99.9% of those places also get a catalog from 928Intl every year, and thats the first if not only place they call. Most of us here are kind of cheap skates and willing to waiting 6 months for a good price on parts we don't immediately need. I don't think I am the only one that has been waiting and looking for a LSD for more than a year, passing on what shows up as too expensive.

Actually Paul, I might be interested in the tranny. But I do need to know who rebuilt it? Every 928 tranny that has been rebuilt/touched locally has failed

hi - tranny was built by Brian Hoy, B&A Trans up here. He just moved from vancouver and started his own shop. i waterski with him. his shop in richmond did rebuilds for mercedes.
he went through the trans and replaced everything except the t/c is original. it looks great. comes with a warranty, i just asked him about that yesterday. the trans is still at his shop. the hood is $50 plus shipping (my guess another $40 by courier) she's dog-eared on one corner due to ups, and needs to be tapped down and the standard body drill. i would do it here, but that means unpacking the the hood. free hood and shipping with the trans purchase.

Engine Pics
Well we spent the better part of two shifts moving and cleaning the engine block. Here's a photo. Cyl walls are exc. Ran great. Parted due to head gasket breach around the oil passage.
![]() Anyone know what's reasonable for '89+ used cams? I don't see a listing on 928Intl... http://jageng.com/garage9/images/4cams.jpg

I think new cams from Porsche are about $1k each, not sure about 928Intl, but Mark announced a Dec special of all used parts 1/2 price.
