1981 US Model 928 have EGR??
Does the 1981 or 1982 US Model 928 have an EGR Valve. The 1982 engine I bought awhile back, the exhaust manifold EGR plate is blocked (no hole in the cast). Can someone verify?

the 4.5L in Dad's "79 has EGR, but I can't say if it's original or not....not much on the car is original.

My 78 has EGR, so I can't imagine that later year US cars don't as well. Is it mentioned in PET or the WSM?

Yeah, rjm65 has an EGR in his 79, which is why I am wondering of the 81 and 82.

I have PET opened and just looked. For the EGR stuff it show -79 which I take to mean 78 and 79 only. Odd, since I thought most cars had EGR's.

Can anyone verify 1981 or 1982 had an EGR?

Ok, I thought I would ask those that actually dismantle these cars. 928 Intl states that 1981 and 82 do NOT have an EGR. Hence why the EGR mount is cast on the exhaust manifold but there is no hole for it.

Does this mean you're talking to the smog ref's or just stockpiling ammo?

I ain't talking to no ref. I was just wondering why my exhaust manifold had the mount but no hole. Also, my Pre-Smog Results also show the lines for EGR as N/A. I was just verifying stuff. But yeah, if need be, I will have all this for the Ref. and my cousin Vito.
