83 928s
Hey guys I recently bought my first 928 and the tach doesn't work, I'm pretty sure it's not a fuse but these cars are new to me so I'm lookin for a little help. Maybe one of you have seen this problem.

Chances are good its an electrical connection that needs cleaning. It might start working again on its own once the car is driven some, so I wouldn't dig directly into unless you have nothing else to fix. The instrument cluster has a flexible circuit board on the back that connects to the individual meters and lights and instead of having a "normal" plug and socket, the wiring harness sockets snap over bare traces on the circuit board folded over a holder. Its best to tackle this job as part of a general pod PM.

Erasure to the connectors on the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) or you need a new one. I believe they are hard to find or NLA. My whole Pod Instruments are wacky too. Mind of their own.
