Cheap, funky no overhead lift on SoCal CL

Lift has no side beams or overhead, and is step over flat on the ground when not in use. To lift arms on each side rotate from 9 oclock to just short of 12, and that raises and moves the car forward on typical looking side lift arms.

Says portable, asking $775. Might be just the ticket for somebody. Brand is shown as Finkbeiner, but looks very much like another German lift I have seen. No connection to me.

Auto Lift - Portable

Looks Fuhkendangerousbeiner brand to me. Way too much rust on it for me to feel comfortable with a car over my head. Just sayin'

I like it. Does anyone know anything about this type of lift? Can it be locked at any random height?

After I make that hole, I won't need to sell the go cart because I'll have enough room to garage another car :-)

They actually have a video of it operating on their website. I didn't see or hear any safety locks while it was lifting, so if you spring a leak in your hydraulics, then you will instantly be wearing a 928 on your head then body.

I really doubt a high end German made lift will be a hazard to use. TUV makes OSHA look easy going.

The main practical issue is that it goes forward as it goes up, and only goes up about 4 feet or so I think.

Cool. Thanks for posting. Four feet (work on a stool) is one hundred times better than 21 inches.

I'm guessing the German dude in the video is taller than 4 feet, but it did get up to about his eyeballs.

Ok, so it will drop forward and down on your head while sitting on a stool as the rusty bolts snap.

Just kidding you all

Back to the safety of your Harbor Freight jack stands if the German lift is too scary.

I like it. it's a bit far away and I'm sure shipping would be rediculous.
Apparently it does have safety locks. It would be interesting to know if it locks in at intervals or only at hte highest position though.

From thier websit, "Maximum safety, double load securing with automatic hydraulically and mechanical locks. Automatic locking swivel arms. "
