bumpy ride

Hey guys,

I just replaced my old shocks with boge shocks and now the ride feels as bumpy as it did before. Also, my front right side seems to be more mushy or loose over bumps than I remember! Which is annoying because the front right side feeling that way is why I even bothered to replace the shocks in the first place. The bumps on the freeway makes me feel like I'm on a wagon with horse and buggy! How are the freeway and road bumps and train tracks crossings on your rides??

Is the ride height set to factory?

Tire pressure OK?

New shocks?

Funny you say about rides. I keep telling my 928 buddy to drive my car since it always feels very rough to me. Bumps seem amplified in the 928. When I let him drive it, he always states it's running fine. This just might be the "it is what it is" way it is ;)

Dano, I suppose you are just one of those "sensitive guy's"!!

Regarding the Boges...like Konis depending on the type they can be stiff.

what size wheels and tires are you running, and at what pressure?

I am totally stock using stock 16" Phonedials. I am not at home so I can't look at the exact size. Recommended tire pressure, I think 32.

Well, I guess that is the way it is supposed to be...! I still feel like I'm riding along the Oregon Trail to the West!

Porsche's setup up correctly have excellent ride quality. Maybe at one of the next get togethers some rides can be arranged.

Bad ride quality frequently is due to bad ride height.

When are you coming down south with your 928, so I can check out your Euro.

Danglerb 11-19-2009 02:57 PM

Trips in the 85 Euro are hard to predict, I don't drive that car in a very safe manner, so not sure how I might handle a few open stretches of highway. Smog due on Tuesday, I should have been working on it this week.

OTOH it is getting a nice set of Bilsteins all around.

Great ride ahead for you...my coupe (BMW 3.0csi) has them...sweet! When I need to replace the real Shark's, I'll be going for them as well!

I've got stock phone's also Pirelli' P4 Seasons, smoth as glass,no noise, and corners without any rollover.

hey a cheap fix wear a diaper member that story about astronaut wearing across state.
A cup? custom 928 jock strap w/ porsche emblem silkscreened on it for the " sensitive rider in you".

some more technical drivers like a 911 type 928 balanced yeah grand touring ride yeah but still low riding sport , and a lot more ride to this car so you feel more/hauling more. I KNOW SOME THAT DRIVE 928 AND TAKING THE TURNS AND CORNING THEY SAY ARE THE BEST THING ABOUT THEM COULD CHOP OUT A THOUSAND LBS OF CAR AND THEYED BE HAPPY, it like listening to dentist office music to them, laaaaaaaaa laaaaaaaa im driving my couch
