The repair manual also has great information and shows you how to rebuild.

PM me your email address and I will send you two complete variations of the 722.3-722.4 manuals. They are 5-6mb each. Michael

What is it that you need to know?

Its basically the same as some middle 80's MB sedan tranny.

I really just need anything cause I cant even find info on the MB trans, good pictures of cut aways, power flow through the gears, whatever
My e-mail is scottinventions325@yahoo.com

Your early 3 speed would be a Porsche A22, with internals of a MB 722.2 transmission. If you search online you can find mercedes manuals and transtar has parts. Even better, buy the CD's with WSM + separate manuals on the A22 and later A28 transmissions.

A28 is same as 722.3 Mercedes internals, specifically a subversion W4A040, where the 40 designates the higher-torque capacity of the transmission, usually for V8 Mercedes sedans it appears.

(This is what I've found in researching it, trying to fix 722.3 4 spd transmissions).
