steering wheel, '85 on a '78???
My steering wheel is beat up and horn pad is spotty....will an '85 wheel fit?? thnxs

If it were me, I would do the 930 one. If not the 930 one, then I would replace it with a good 78 Era one.

Be careful what you buy. A lot of the Porsche steering wheels have a smaller spline plate so the rear assembly has to be swapped. I would purchase one that had a 928 part number stamped on the plate under the horn pad.

911 and 928 steering wheels have the same larger shaft/splines. The 924/944 wheels look the same from the outside, but have a smaller shaft and will not work.
Also, keep in mind that there are two different types of 4 spoke wheels. Some have the "extended" hub option (an approximate 1" extension at the hub which sits the wheel closer to the driver) and some do not. Both will work, but it's all self-preference. |

I was thinking of getting one of the aftermarket wheels with the NOS button set-up on them like this. I just about bought it this week end but they didn't have the mounting hardware.
