84' auto wont start

After years of faithful service my 84'S will not start. i turned it off in front of friends house. tried starting minutes later and no start. she will catch for a second then die..then just turn over. If you let it sit a while itll start for a second again then die then just turn over again. I checked fuel pump relay and fuel injection relay. Even jumped pump relay..still no start...proper voltage is present in terminals. there is no voltage in fuse 13 unless fuel pump relay is jumped. should there be voltage in fuse 13 going to relay or from relay? i also check voltage to warm up regualtor..proper and it is open when cold..even took it out and lubed it. the cold start injector has NO voltage to it or the time sensor when key is on. does this only recieve power when starter is on?? im at a loss here. everything seems right. I dont have a AFm..but a mass air sensor and PSC1 signal calibrator..and that has proper voltage as well.--James

You should check the timing belt and see if the timing marks line up
Then to test,
spray a 2 second burst with ether into the intake and crank it,
if it runs for a second you have fuel issue if not then its spark or timing,

Fuel or fire, not an expert but sounds like fuel delivery issue so far .

Ive jumped the fuel pump relay and changed out #13 and #22 fuses. i have a new fuel pump relay coming tommorrow. perhaps the relay will solve the problem..but if it wouldnt start while jumped i dont know why it would with new relay..ill see. I just hope the PSC1 / or ECU didnt take a dump!

I'd also check the ignition system. I had a similar problem with my '84 Auto. After a flatbed tow back to my house, it turned out to be the coil. Good luck.

after a bit of searching the fuel pump relay isnt a 53 like the horn relay so swapping this wont work .

IIRC you need a 3 way jumper wire to correctly jumper the fuel pump relay.
In the mean time clean all of the battery connections,
the engine grounds,
the fuel injection grounds on the right cam cover ,
the hot post connections ,
the 14 pin connector pins above the hot post,
the fuses,
and the relays in the CE panel .
use an eraser to clean the fuses and relay pins
