running problems

Hi. I have a 1984 928 with a weird problem. When I try to start the car, it will start and idle for a few seconds then shut off. At other times, I can turn the key and it will run great at all RPM's for a while, then shut off as if I had turned the key off. At other times, it just won't start at all. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any replys.

Possibly your fuel pump, filter, or relay. Are all your grounds solid? Any loose connections?
Can you kill it by wiggling the ignition key?

Thanks for your comments XLR8929. I finally found the problem. It was the injector relay. I had tried the fuel pump relay several times and done the fuel pressure check. Finally, after reading the tech. manual again and looking at the schematic, I found there was a separate injector relay. Thanks again for your help.
