Fuel pump priming ?

I have recently bought a 1989 928 GT, unfortunately the previous owner had lost the laserline alarm fob.
Today I have removed the alarm system, the engine turns over but doesn't start.
Should I be able to hear the fuel pump prime wen the ignition is on position 2 before cranking?

the pump wont run till the engine is cranking and the CPS is sending a signal to the computers.
if you had an alarm i would say your not finished removing/ repairing it.
look along the CE panel for cut wires,
also you may have to remove the POD unless you can find spliced wires under it or under the dash

Hi
the alarm was an aftermarket 'laserline' which I have removed due to loosing the remote fob. The car is LHD, (european) and the alarm box was located behind the glovebox. Is this where the factory alarm would have been, as the 14 wires seem to be tails or ends ?
The colours are 1 Yellow,1 red/white, 1 blue, 1 green/brown, 1 green/red, 1 yellow/brown, 2 brown (joined together), 2 brown/white, 2 brown/blue and 2 red/black (which are live with the ignition on).
Would these have gone into the original alarm/what are they for? and do i need to join any together ?
many thanks
