get a work shop manual and read it before working on your car,
there are many tests that can be done and are covered in the WSM .
Once your up to speed then you will move quickly through the repair process

1) I would do a visual inspection of the slave movement before ordering parts.
2) Shift linkage has a plastic cup that breaks forward of the shifter on the torque tube, and may need replacing, rubber bits in the rear linkage by the tranny.
3) Clean all the grounds, carefully clean pod contacts.
4) Check all speed ranges, resistor packs often need replacing to make middle speeds work.
5) Relays often a good place to start.
6) Hatch receiver has a insert that goes bad, Roger and others may have a replacement that works by now, otherwise needs a new receiver.
7) At least it doesn't leak. I'd worry more about the accident that led to the repaint.
8) Paul Champagne will fix you up, Paul Champagne Porsche Pascha Seats

OMG! That's hilarious. Be careful on driving that car so much since you don't even have a good oil pressure reading on that car. Get your electrical gremlins sorted first. Like DanglerB said, grounds will need cleaning as well as corroded contacts on all your fuses and relays.

Try vacuum or power bleeding the slave cylinder and draw a pint or so of fluid through the system. (with someone topping the reservoir off if using a vacuum pump) Doing this at a good constant rate will properly pull (or push) any air out of the system if it is "bouncing around" when manually bleeding.
