Phone dials - slippery when wet??

Not sure if anyone else experiences this, but when I am coming off the highway while its raining I have no brakes for a few seconds....my brakes work perfectly any time else when it is dry or I'm doing regular braking in the rain. Just seems like anytime I drive several miles in the rain without hitting the brakes, I don't have them for a few seconds. Scared the you know what out of me the first time I needed to use them for an emergency in the rain and ......nothing! Anyway, I'm aware of it now. I'm guessing the large openings allow the disks to get soaked with water and it takes a second or two to dry up?? Or some other issue??

Much more likely splash from the tires is getting the pads wet, plus some pads don't do that well cold. Good idea to apply the brakes lightly as far in advance as you can. I do a apply, release, repeat thing.

What is the condition of your tires? I bet your brakes are fine- I think you are getting into a hydroplaning condition.

The notion of disks wet and then having no brakes doesn't sound right. Porsche designed the wheel and the brakes to work in wet conditions, and I've never read about anyone else having this problem with this car.

Do you have your splash shields in place?

From the pictures in your profile, it looks like you have been doing some burnouts. As Normy says, check your tires :)

Hydroplaning usually includes the exciting bonus, no steering, not just no stopping.

Well, I'm not sure I'm hydroplaning because I still have control of the car steering wise. I'm usually getting off an exit with a curve when I hit the brakes and I have never felt out of control. Tires have good tread even with a few burnouts! I am missing a panel on the driver side that protects the horn and headlight. It on my list of next things to do. The passenger side one has a few holes in it also. The rotors are kind of old and the brakes were on the car before I bought it. I never changed anything since it seemed to brake just fine. I am up for a new set of rotors and brakes in the spring when it comes back out of hibernation........I'll report back after I get the guards in place and a new set of pads and rotors......thanks for giving some possible issues for me to check out, I'm not ruling anything out at the moment......
