928 Tech Session at Hennessy Porsche - Roswell, Ga. 1/15/11

Sorry for the late notice. A fellow enthusiast reminded me of this forum so I figured better late than never. I'll have to find my way over here more often.

The fine folks at Hennessy Porsche North Atlanta have invited us to a 928 tech session at their dealership on Mansell Road in Roswell, Ga. on Saturday, January 15th. This Porsche dealership has a service team that knows and appreciates the Porsche flagship 928. Jack Swint, Hennessy's Porsche Gold Meister Shop Foreman is a long time 928 owner and enthusiast. Mark Venti, the Gen. Mgr. and Jeff Corey, the Service Mgr. are looking forward to meeting us and our 928s.

Jack will be sharing some of his extensive knowledge of 928 maintenance and repair. Follow this thread for upcoming details of the tech session. Hennessy will provide something for us to munch on and perhaps a few other Porsche goodies. I'll be handing out a few treasures from the 928 OC as well as membership forms for anyone that would like to join.

Make plans to be at Hennessy Porsche, 990 Mansell Road Roswell, GA 30076 on Jan, 15th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. To see their lot below lined with 928s would be a beautiful thing.

Will the snow be gone and the interstates back open by then? I just got my wife's car down the driveway and out of our subdivision today. For those of you out of the area - we have been nailed with 8" of snow and below freezing temperatures. Almost everything has been shut down. I hope to be there (depending on weather) but will have to leave the 928 on the lift

That's me pulling my daughter with the dune buggy...sorta like tubing, but without the summer, a boat, water, a tube...

I received notice this morning that the event will have to be postponed due to weather. The facility has been closed for three days due to the icy roads and they will be using Saturday as a regular work day to catch up with their schedule. I will advise as soon as a new date is set. Please spread the word to everyone you know who may be planning to attend.

The new date has been set. Mark your calendars for February 12th at 2:00 PM . Hopefully the weather gods will be more 928 friendly this time around. Maybe we should all do the Pirtle 928 Timing Belt Dance to appease them and ensure fair weather.

If he's like me, he'll probably be up all night the night before buttoning it up. It seems that's the way it always works for me before a 928 get together.

I'll make it next year! Waiting on a fuel accumulator. Should be here late Friday. Slap it on Saturday. Next week I'll have it towed to my friend's shop for the whole TB/WP and other projects...but not until Tom picks up his new wheels so he can check it out in person on Tuesday. Probably take the driver's seat out to be reupholstered before leaving my garage. I was hoping to take my 911 down to the 928 event but I have other obligations that would not make little faces smile if I missed out. I DEFINITELY want to get her drivable asap and join you guys for a cruise.

My #1 personal goal at the moment is to finish flight school and get my Private Pilot's License. That's why I'm cheating and letting the 928 get finished by other hands. I've been working on my PPL off and on for about 2 years and I finally decided to wrap it up or quit altogether.
