This was on myth busters. They ruined a perfectly good 928 to see if it had the same amount of aerodynamic drag backwards as it did forwards. All it would have taken was a wind tunnel to do this but these d**che bags had to waste a butt load of time to prove their point at the expense of a perfectly good car. This is why I don't watch TV. The people who do these shows are morons.

Owning a 928 is risky business - but sometimes you just gotta say "what the fudge".

I agree, destroyed a beautiful car for nothing. They could have put a model in a wind tunnel and got better results as you mentioned. It's a dumb show anyway.

Looks only good on the skin on this one

When i first heared about it i said the same thing about cutting up a 928...this one only looks good on the outside the rest is a real rat even before they cut it up...It is still bad what they did to it ...

Talking Mythbusters miss

While it may be revealing my age, the original myth was that "a Chevy Vega is more aerodynamic in reverse that going forward". I think Bill "the Grump" Jenkins was supposed to have built one that way and tested it. Guess there weren't any of those collector items sitting around to mutilate.
Sad they had to chose an ICON to sully with their shade tree shenanigans. I really found fault with their inability to get the electrical connections thru the factory bulkhead and then cutting the hole out. Not very astute engineers if they can't figure out a simple task like putting wires thru a hole that someone was able to do. On the plus side, they probably can't reproduce so the gene pool has one less smudge mark.

No wait i have a better idea. Why not chop up a perfectly good Corvette ZR1? At least it would be junk they were chopping up.

Anyone notice when they actually compared it to the 'forward' car, (which as 924CarreraGTP mentioned, is an extreme waste of airtime and funding), they compared it to an S or S4 (don't remember) with SPOILERS?????????? Uh, did these guys attend preschool? Spoilers have their advantages, but NOT for aerodynamics. This gives the 'control' car a HUGE disadvantage. Not to mention the 'control', is a US car while their worthless experiment, as mentioned, not only a RoW proven by the sidemarkers, but likely a Euro as shown by the existence of a rear foglight.

I mean, how can they possibly "BY CHANCE" purchase a Euro car IN THE U.S. of a vintage right in the middle of the fuel crisis, where U.S. cars were anemic compared to RoW??????

Um, not to mention the difference in airflow under the car, through wheelwells, mirrors, etc. etc. between their experiment and the regular car.

They rigged this thing from the start. Waste of airtime IMO.

The fact that their rigged experiment still LOST proves that Porsche, at the time, is miles thinking!

Oh and anyone ever watch the early episode where they test """"""traction"""""" between FWD, RWD, and 4WD cars in the snow? Don't get me goin on that one.....

I don't think any of these guys could've passed ELEMENTARY school physics.

And these guys are on TV. Congratulations, stupid.

.....I think I'll stop now! Got out my rant for the day!
