JVC DVD/CD Radio

I was playing around with the back ground picture. You can put any picture you want as back ground, in fact it allows up to 4 different images, the width of the radio. So I put the Porsche medallion in there. Sorry the picture did not show as good as I wanted.

Owning a 928 is risky business - but sometimes you just gotta say "what the fudge".

My original Blau bit the dust and was not worth fixing. This JVC can do a lot more than putting a picture in it. I have one of the car that is back ground. I am just fooling with some of it's options. The Bluetooth is great with my Iphone. I used it's USB connection to get the pictures in it.

I have the same head unit in the MB Wagon and a similar JVC double din unit in the 928. How exactly did you add that image? Thanks in advance. 77Tony

I found a site with a bunch of logo's and loaded several into my USB stick memory. Then I plugged the stick into the USB wire on the JVC. In the JVC, get into the AV menu. There are 4 user areas to store the logo, pictures, etc. Once you do the JVC "snap shot" function of the image you can pick the 1 of 4 user storage places. Then in AV menu you can pick the one you want and save it in the JVC memory. I think there are 4 or more that come with the unit, "Road" is one for example. Scroll down to get into the "user1, user2, etc. I did have to resize the image to fit using Photo Shop, depends on the image. I have one of the car as well. Kind of neat. The JVC is real slick, many features!

Neato. Wasn't that a new Head Unit a few months ago? Break out the Windex on that Touchscreen.

As I mentioned, the picture was not good. The screen actually is fine.

I know this.

Here's some good stuff I use on my Carputer Touchscreen and 55" LED 3D Tv at Home.

It's Monster Cable Stuff, but that Little Blue Rag that comes with it, is the trick stuff.

From the Monster Site:

Quote:
Safely Clean All Your Mobile Displays
The Monster ScreenClean solution and special MicroFiber™ cloth gently polishes the display without scratching or damaging the protective cover or screen coating. Unlike ordinary glass cleaner, Monster ScreenClean won't drip or run down the screen into delicate electronics. Plus the Monster ScreenClean solution is specially formulated to reduce the static electricity that attracts dust but leaves no residues.

Don't use Windex on plastic. Use a 50/50 solution of Iso Alchol and distilled water. Use an old under shirt, soft cotton, not paper towels. You can get the alcohol in different colors at your pharmacy. I use the green color. This also works great on your computer/TV screens.

You can probably mix a gallon of this for $2 vs the Monster stuff. That rag might just be one of those micro fine type, but an old cotton rag works real good too. I found this on the Net some place, tried it and it works just great. I've got an old spray bottle of it.

I plugged in to the Ipod connection and loaded a few pics. I was able to view them onscreen, but could not figure out how to save them to the unit. I could not find the "Snap Shot" feature on this head unit, (JVC AVX 820) so I am figuring it's only available on the single din JVC like yours that is in the wifes wagon, and not on the double din unit ? Both the double din JVC and Single din JVC are very similar in function so I thought it might work. I seem to be wrong. T

Mine is the KD-AVX77. Do you have the manual?? It's all in there. The "snap shot" is a camera icon on one of the menus. Once I plugged the USB stick in, the JVC started displaying pictures. I then hit the menu display on the screen to bring up the keys and then, pressed the camera icon. If you don't have the manual, you should be able to download it from JVC.

Geez, you guys are penny pinchers. You can get it on eBay for $7.99 shipped free and that little bottle will outlast your 928 ownership. Now who in the hell needs a gallon of cleaner to clean a 2" x 5" Screen.

Plus, you can put that little bottle and rag in your glovebox without issue and it can be used when you not at home.

What's wrong with being a penny pincher? A penny saved is a penny earned!
