Porsche 928 electrical short tip!

Many times the overhead interior light can short and drain your battery. You can spend years checking the jumper, cleaning the grounds and pin connectors and never find it.
It is a common problem and you must remove the fuse to the overhead light.
Another thing, doing a draw test and pulling every fuse to find a short is tedious while standing on your head in the 928 floorboard. You are better off getting a clipboard, checking all systems and writing down the ones that don't work. Remove one fuse each day from the nonworking systems until you find the short. I narrowed mine down to the trunk latch, antenna and the interior light. The interior light was the short.
I hope this helps with your Shark ownership.
Justin

Then after you get the short figured out and you've had to recharge your battery every day for a week or in my case 6 months, go buy a new battery. Problem solved.

Good thread! My problem is that I'm a mechanic, not a computer person. I'm still trying to figure out how you guys add the list of your cars that appear at the bottom of your posts.

I like the slammed front end BTW. I actually had my Euro like that but not by choice. The front Eibach Springs I installed are very short and the stock shocks I had weren't adjustable. Hence, I literally had 1-1/2 " from bottom of front spoiler to the ground. Gave Ants haircuts that dared to cross my path.

Needless to say, I bought some Front Bilsteins and adjusted the front end up a little.

My car was lowered before I bought it, but I like it. Its no fun in town but its less wind resistance when I'm blowing the doors off of RX7s on the highway. I've driven a few unlowered 928s but I like the ride of my car better. Thanks MPDano for telling me how to add my babies to the posts.

924 your car is too low
I would suggest to raise it back to stock,
eventually you will rip off either the AC compressor or the Alternator and thus take out your engine,
then you will be able to look at how cool it looks parked in your driveway ,
while you drive your 911 to work.

hide height is set for the bestest pcar performance. just low with eng heat road heat not enough air under it through grill correctly.... wind drag dispursment across the lights / roof, maybe the winds going in through headlight bucket sockets keeping eng and all so cool.
fluids, tires shifted all working harder?

Yeah, its not really as low as it looks. Its on a hill in this picture. I rarely scrape the spoiler. It's been like that for the 4 years I've owned it. So far I haven't ripped anything out from under it. Its got maybe 4 inches or so from the ground but thats what she said.

Thanks, I might someday if I ever decide its too low. I do often get to a big dip in the road and I brake and then power it to lift the front end. Its a technique I learned in a book by Vic Elford. A man who jumped trees in Porsche 911s.
