I love that interior!
|
you gotta love Bgundy or not.
The car looks nice i would want to know about when these things were done, timing belt water pump , about 1500.00 MMs and OPG 1000.00 clutch, 1500.00 and shocks 1200.00 and intake refresh 4500.00, answer these questions and post the answers here |
well far as I know they were ALL done by the owner. since he had the shop manuals. so it MIGHT be worth a shot I mean it's just before the PSD so it's a lighter car but it's pretty much loaded minus the CD changer from what I can tell. A/C needs a recharge, it needs new tires. tune up for sure. but since the manuals are there I can do most of it. timing belt and pump i'll leave to an expert.

The second owner was the NASA engineer, but who knows if the third owner ever opened them! Having a set of manuals doesn't mean he actually used them :-)

B man SRSLY if you can answer each of the questions i posted with details then you will get the advice your seeking
|
I know what you mean, but time will tell still waiting for the guy to answer my e-mail.

In my experience fixing the AC is never as simple as a recharge. But other than that it looks REALLY nice. It's pretty hard to tell with just pics but it looks really well taken car of. You almost never see 5 speeds in S4's, huge bonus in my book. I would pay a premium for that alone.
|
I remember this car from when it was for sale in FL I guess a couple years ago, but I forget what any of the details were, just a slow selling car, with a not too knowledgeable owner sure it was nasa spec.
I only see 5 manuals in that set, doesn't that mean it only has the older model info, like pre 85? |
no idear, still waiting for a reply from the guy, cars still for sale though I asked the usual round of questions so we shall see
|
looks like a real cream puff and I love the colors.
|
I just hope it really is so far no e-mail yet lol. never know might get lucky on the price
|
Its a small used car lot on the west coast that from time to time has a 928, so any expectation of a bargain is misplaced, but OTOH I believe they have at least a decent reputation (within the realm of used car lots).
|
by the way stupid question, but I haven't seen that figure before over the rear wiper switch. what is it? lol.

Thanks. much help. and the guy called me today. the father of the guy I e-mailed apparently, it's going to need a tune up. the nasa guy lost his job and did the 928 as a hobby and did a total service before he sold it to a broker or something along those lines, and he bought it. it had been in storage for 2 years before he bought it and has had it for a year and a half now, and he has 3 more, 2 on the lot but one he keeps secret (naughty man) I told him it will be in a month or two because I have a few other cars to look at but I ran a vin check and I get " 928 S4/CS" doesn't "CS" stand for Club Sport?
|
CS stands for club sport, but DMV and carfax et al don't differentiate models, they list all possible for that year, so you see stuff like S4/GT on automatics none of which are GT's.
I can't imagine what a tune up would be on any newer 928, none of the typical inexpensive parts like plugs are remotely typical as problem solvers. OTOH runs rough needs potentially thousands of dollars in new parts and troubleshooting to fix doesn't sell cars. |
yeah I've seen the S4/GT thing a lot myself I ran the Vin on Auto Atlanta's Decoder but i've narrowed things down and this is still a good candidate IF I can get the price down some more due to lack of service history
