LED light bulbs

Ever thought about LED bulbs for your 928 tail lights and turn signals??

Well I have.

Want to reduce the voltage drop when you turn on your lights? (or when you hit the brakes or turn signals)

Of course, you do!!

More stuff from the trucking industry, LED bulbs. The same as an 1156 bulb (an 1156 bulb will melt the inside of the running light section of the lens), you can use the LED bulbs I found at my local (truck) chrome shop in the back end of your 928.

The bulbs are marketed by www.truxaccessories.com, available nationwide.

They come in 3 flavors---red, amber, and clear. About $14.95 each. A bit much for a bulb for your car, but think (like I do) about the benefits. 10 year warranty from truxaccessories, .09 amp draw, and you can either use a red one in the spaces for running light and brake-or clear, amber for turn signal-or clear, and clear for back-up light. You can also use amber or clear for your front turn signals as well, depending upon whether you have amber or clear turn signal lenses.

I have installed a complete set of LEDs in my Euro. Reds where the tail lens is red, amber in the turn signals, and clear for backups.

What a difference it makes.

Check out their website to find a dealer near you.

It's worth the expense, and heck, you may never replace light bulbs again.....

regards---rhjames

What about the indicators, do they blink faster? Did you have to put in a digital indicator relay?

Owning a 928 is risky business - but sometimes you just gotta say "what the fudge".

Bump. I'd like to find out if anyone else has done this yet and what they have experienced if possible.

I have installed led light bulbs on all my interior lights as well as my license plate, trunk, and reverse lights. The following are instructions and bulb guide for a 2009 G37 sedan.

I've bought some, haven't used any yet. Its not plug and play, its plug, mess with stuff, and I suspect replace it all later as the technology matures.

Using LEDs to reduce the power, and then putting in resistors so it uses the same power to not set off the light warning makes no sense to me.
