gas tank fuel line repair
I posted a while ago that I had the smell of gas with a full tank. The culprit was the hose that when from the top of the tank to the fill spout by the cap. PIA repair because it goes through the body on its way but that wasn't my biggest problem. The rubber return line that attaches to the sending unit was junk, and to top it off it was factory crimped to the steel line that runs up front. I had a kit to replace the fuel lines on my 951 from Lindsey Racing so I called them and we pieced together what I needed . heres what i did
first I cut the line where there would be space for all the peices ![]() Then I installed a compression fitting and screwed an adapter on to that. ![]() (This one is out of order) but once the rubber in the factory hold downs is removed the metal tabs can be bent to hold the new line. ![]() stainless fuel line attached ![]() an8 (don't quote me on that) fuel line slipped over nipple and hose clamped. all done no leaks.

The compression fitting was 10mm to -6
The line itself was a -8 with a -6 female fitting end

Not a good idea to use a hose clamp on braided SS hose, even the worm gear type.
They require crimping or the AN type fitting. Hope its on the suction side or low pressure return. Len
