Rheostat or another Short?
I have fuse #44 that keeps blowing, and no dash lights, so I removed the two connectors to the rheostat wheel linking them with a jumper but still blowing the fuse, and I also replaced the headlight switch because the fuse was blowing without the key in the ignition, and whenever I was turning the headlight switch on. Now, I put the two connectors back on the rheostat wheel, and the fuse does not blow until I turn the wheel to the brightest location.
Do I need a new rheostat wheel, or is the short somewhere else? Thanks guys |

Thanks for the reply MPDano. The PO had the pod out to fix the speedo, but it was working fine until I let the car sit for a week. I checked the interior light above the rearview mirror, and I am using the 5 amp fuse. I guess I will have to take the pod down anyway because the speedo is only working intermittently. The dash lights were dim before the fuse started blowing, and maybe I did something when I moved the pod up and down.

I'm now pretty confident you'll find your issue in the POD area now. Look for mashed wires or harness. I had my AC Guy mash some wires next to the Expansion Valve when he replaced it. Everytime I used my Wipers, it would blow a fuse. Traced it back to the last area worked on and there it was. Hope this helps.

It's funny you say that because I just had my A/C worked on in June, but it did not blow any fuses until this week. Strange. I did move my pod up and down to show my girlfriend last weekend. Maybe I did it then.

Lol, I was proud to show her this supercar with all of it's advances in technology for it's time, and then it popped a fuse!
Thanks MPDano! |
