Anybody have an OEM Blaupunkt radio for '78

Working or not. This is the dual knob w/the cassette. There's the front head unit and the secondary unit.

Let me know... thanks!

I have my old one from my 86, but no FM. Why bother installing an obsolete radio in your car. There are plenty of fancy new radio's with CD/DVD/Bluetooth/HDradio ability.

something about a dvd player in a 30 year old car is kind of funky. My radio is still oem, and it actually sounds pretty decent. i use a cable from cig lighter, and run it to my i pod, so i can blast GA GA through that sweet old blaupunkt

Almost nothing aftermarket really looks like it belongs in the 928 console, not German enough.

It's March 1977. Ernst Furhmann is carving the Alps of southern France in the new 928. Entranced by the visceral effects of his new creation, he get lost.
Acht ja! I wish I had my Nav... and where's my bluetooth, I need to call Jurgen and tell him how much fun this is!

Well, what is "funky" is having an old obsolete radio in my opinion. Tape player and no tapes?? Look, keep your old defunct radio in a box, go get a nice new fancy unit and when you sell, put back in the old funky radio. This way it is stock. Or just hand the old radio to the next owner and he will toss it for you.

How come you feel it so necessary to (twice over), share your alternate opinion?

All I said was I was looking for some old OE radio stuff. Never even said what I need 'em for, or what I wanted to do with 'em.

And the other guy (tychain99) said he likes his setup, so he's cool.

You jut got to chill out man..... you didn't even laugh at my Furhmann joke.

Just thought I would point out some options that is all. No hard feelings or anything. Do as you please, his car. Sorry you took it the wrong way. I replaced my original radio, the old one is in a box up on a shelf, but not worth fixing.

I have my stock cassette radio out of my euro '81. It worked, but it was missing one knob. I'm sure it could be sourced. I am one of those guys who installed a "fancy" $70 radio in my dash. Had to have my sat radio. My stock unit is sitting on my bar downstairs. I figured a purists might want it someday so I didn't chuckk it Is this what your looking for?

I sure hope so.

This Jadz guy seems to be affected by a rare strain of 928 fever, earlymost-synodrome maximus.

BTW no reason to limit your search for an authentic radio to 928 owners, same radio's must have gone into plenty of other models. Once you figure out which radio you want, I'd do hunts for it directly skipping the date and 928 part.

Quite possibly. Knobs not critical, I'll carve oout a piece of wood and plunk in on there.
Post up a pick or email to jadz928@hotmail.com Thanks!

note that the old style radio is not a DIN size - it is smaller. When I installed my new head unit, the consol trim peice around the radio had to be cut out. Hopefully Jim, your consol trim has not been cut to accomodate a later DIN size head.

The two early cars both have the original radios, which I'm lucky for that.
