Car Overheating, Or Not?

My central warning light and the warning light on my coolant temp keep coming on. The weird thing, my engine does not seem hot, and the needle on the guage do not go over middle. But, the lights come on. What should I check? Is it a sensor, the water pump? Can air flow do it? I recently put new gaskets on the intake manifol and sealed the injectors up, if that may be related. Please give your opinion! I need help!

Also, it sometimes turns right of when I go around the corner or brake. Some times it never even comes on while I am in the car. I recently messed with alot of the vacuum lines. Any part of the vacuum lines that has to do with keeping the temo down? I also washed my engine out with alot of water.

Dang, if it ain't one thing it is another

Well the engine wash is probably the culprit. as it only takes a litle water to short the wires above the sensor. Then I would take apart the connectors spray them with contact cleaner. put a dab of silicone in it and reconnect. You could also see if you can find someone with a pyrometer just to verify that the engine is NOT overheating. One other way is looking at your oil pressure at idle. Low oil pressure is a dead give away.

My oil pressure is at 2 when I'm idle and goes up to 4 or 5 when I give it gas. Didn't happen till I washed it.

Oil is fine. Just the way it should be. I also agree on the above advise, just walk around the bits and parts that concern heating registration and give them some maintenance...
