for those of you that have never removed a cover these pics will show you where all the nuts are to be removed,,,first take out your plastic wheelhouse's to get access to all the nuts,,,after all the nuts are removed there are five phillip screws under the hood,,,also disconnect headlight washer hoses http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1333889331.jpg

Interesting, you left the Front Spoiler on when you removed the Front Bumper, most remove that first. Great job, can't wait to see more pics of your progress.

Much easier to pull the Front cover off with the spoiler still on it . I do that all the time.

Good luck with your project! And please do tell about the early mint green car in the background.

bluemane500 04-14-2012 03:20 PM

thanks for the compliments,,the 850 was a customers car,,, the green car is my 79 5speed restored a couple years ago,,,,,,so after a busy week i had a little free time today, so i removed the back bumper,,,after removing the wheels, plastic shield on drivers rear, next the antenna and the side marker lights the bumper begins to be unbolted http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1334441974.jpg

bluemane500 04-14-2012 03:24 PM

after the nuts are removed on the underside of the body, the bumper guards need to come off,,, easy enough loosen the bottom bolt and remove the center bolt http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1334442210.jpg

bluemane500 04-14-2012 03:35 PM

now in order to remove the cover the tail light wiring unplugs behind the corners of the interior quarter panel trim,,,to correctly remove those you really need to take the interior apart first,,, so i take out the front seats first---next the rear lower cushions, then the fold down rear seats,,then lastly the quarter trim,,,,you must find all the screws,,,there are screws in the seat belt opening trim,,you must move the belt left and right to get access to these screws,,,when your ready to remove the panels they slide out towards the front of the car,,,then you will have access to the tail lamp plugs,,,unplug and push gromets thru body,,now remove top retaining screws on top of rear cover and you are ready to remove cover,,,dont forget to unplug the plate light wiring as you take the cover offhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1334442895.jpg
