cleaning products that work on light colored carpet.

Hello.
Just shampood the carpets-Tan color.
There are 3 spots on each lower part of the door associated with the screws that hold the carpet-panel on.
They are very light stains but they bother me .
Can`t get them out.
What should one use.

I removed several of the floor mats from my car, sprayed them in either purple power or super clean, and scrubbed them up nice with a soft plastic bristle brush then let them air dry in the sun. Took out all the dirt/grease stains and brightened up the mats nicely. They are tan also. You could try it on your door panels but I think you would be better off removing the carpeting from them first so the panels don't get water damaged. As always, try a test spot in an inconspicuous area first.

I use either Griot's Carpet Cleaner, OR, Oxi-Clean... I have a tan interior on my Subaru Outback, and recently used Griot's Carpet Cleaner on the driver's side floor mat (last week), and got out that tough area where the heel of your shoe always sits. It was totally black (maybe 2-3 inch square area)...It worked surprisingly well, and I'd say it got out 90% of the nasty black stain. I'll probably finish it up with oxi-clean this weekend.

I've also used Oxi-Clean on the carpets in my house, and that stuff is pretty awesome, too...Works wonders on pet stains.

I use this stuff. Spray the foam on and let sit for a minute and then use a brush. Then wipe off. Works awesome.

resolve works well. spay on, work with it with your hand or towel. it does have bleaching character so don't let it soak.

the proper way to clean carpet is using an extractor. it's harder on crevices though and renting a machine may be overkill depending on how much area is soiled.

Hi Mike....If you can get the cover off the car door...I would use a high pressure washer on it and let dry in the sun. Really. Any cleaner you use will leave residue in the carpet. It will survive the washer fine. Just don't get real close ( less that 6" on a 2000 psi washer ) Everyone I have done has...and thats a lot. In fact it will get out all the years of dirt and cleaner residue better than any cleaner I have ever used. The original carpet quality is top notch.

Hello Dean.
I cannot even imagine taking the carpet off of the door. In my mind anyway, I am fortunate to have an absolutely unmolested vehicle.
-On the 88, I've changed the whole carpet and then adhered the new with 3m spray. I've dissected t all and repaired. This one is special!

-My drivers door window is a little loose like most 928's out there. Today I took off the center door card. There, I saw the original white vapor barrier that Porsche used. I could not get myself to cut or pull too much to tighten up the plastic rod guides. I just put it back together.

-Cheers Dean.
