Coolant gauge question (is it working?)

I am terrible when it comes to electrical troubleshooting.

My coolant gauge is not registering. I have taken the plug off at the engine water bridge and ground the blue wire and the gauge will register hot. I then ground the brown and the alarm light will light on the gauge. I tested the resistance between each terminal blades of the sensor to ground. Nothing registers on the meter. When I put the plug back on the sensor the gauge will not work.

I have also replaced the sensor.

I hope I explained my problem well enough.

Thanks. Mike P

Try cleaning the grounds under the steering column.

I will clean the grounds when I get home tonight.

Where is the needle on the gauge suppose to be pegged at normal running temperature?

Thanks. Mike

Dean, I cleaned the grounds behind the dash. Not an easy job. I am tall. Still not working.

What else can I do?

Thanks for the help.
