These cars must run, taking a DD stance

Thinking about it a LONG time, this morning I sold my owned since new 91 Mustang 5.0L to a friend our son's. Nice kid just joined the Navy and already an E3 on merit just a few months out of boot. Wife still has her 99 Lincoln Continental, but now I am on the solid path of the US 83 and Euro 85 need to become practical daily drivers.

Selling the Mustang was to force the situation, so far just feels funny not having it, but Windows has decided it requires my time more urgently for maybe a week. Should be interesting with the added push to finish projects off.

What a rotten way to go.. It's a hard life trying to decide which 928 to drive, isn't it?

must be nice

must be nice to live in a place where you can drive a 928 on a daily basis and not worry about snow and ice!. my tires on the porsche are not rated for cold weather:P I had to buy a camry for my daily driver...
Honestly i think the best thing you can do for our cars is to drive them on a regular basis...sitting is the worst thing you can do..my car is proof.

Jan 1, my 2TB mirrored raid media server sneezed, recovery of the nearly 2TB of content including all pictures etc. still days $$$ away.

White 91 LX 5.0L hatch with gray interior. No luxury, but nice little car that served me well.

Mike, when you said that you were taking a DD stance - I was thinking DareDevil. Now I realize you mean Daily Driver - duh. Too many comic books in a past life.

Daily driver 928 isn't that far from jumping off a roof, just no costume.

As a practical matter since the buyer of my Mustang is a family friend good chance MOST of my fixing will be on his car, catching up all the PM etc., but he is stationed in SD at school during the week with weekend visits home, so soon I hope to be getting the last rough edges off the 928's and driving them regularly some distance.

Almost a joke really is my parts car, which I am still a couple days of picking away from sending to the scrapper. Coming up on 3 years I think, sheesh, I hope it isn't coming up on 4 years. It is still sitting on top of my (collapsed) lift where all work should be occurring.

Making one a DD isn't particularly difficult or expensive.

Its been teens all week here, with snow down.
Mine sits in the driveway, covered in heavy frost.
Scrape, start and go.

Forgoe all the cosmetic work, all the wheel choice BS, all the stereo nonsense.

Focus on electrical, engine and trans health, suspension and brakes. Spend money on replacing wear parts and replacing sensors, relays and fuses. Done. Drive.

And I'm not talking about the initial condition being a pampered garage queen.
This one was sitting in springfield, Mass in somebody's driveway for 10 years on flat tires.

BTW, $1700 was a no-brainer so long as the TB looked to be intact from the inspection ports.
No idea if it ran. Didn't bother to turn it over, it was too cold to mess with it.

Dangler, few people know more about them, put down whatever else you are messing with and prep one as a DD

Right now I barely have time to buy more tools and parts. Selling my Mustang bumped the priority of the 928's, but did not create more time in my day.

Soon though, and beyond that I am getting a real itch to put together a Euro Hybrid and see how the welded hot rod cams I picked up, I hate to even think it, 3 years ago this week, work out. I've been chewing over the details, and I think have made my mind up not to use the used 944T valve springs I bought, but to go ahead and buy something new and wonderful.
