My First Porsche
Hey everyone! I picked up my 1984 928S on Tuesday and have already bought all new taillights, sidemarkers, turn signals, parking lights and hood/hatch struts, lol. They are on the way as we speak.
Anyway, here are some pictures. Im from the Jersey Shore, btw. There is alot to fix, so expect to see me quite often around here, lol. ![]() ![]()

Yes, MPDano, I'm going to get it back to factory perfection! Also, thanks for the compliment on the Evo, I wish I could call it my own, but alas, it belongs to my brother lol.

Here's my take on the lighting being blacked out. I used to have a 1995 Mustang GT Convertible, yup the last of the 5.0. Anyways, did the whole black out on both front and rear lights. When you step on the brake, the light is hardly visable and thus becomes dangerous. The headlights and even more dangerous as your actual beam is lessened so much that it seems as if your driving with no lights on. Rid that stuff, it will keep drivers from rear ending you and you rear ending them.

The dimmed light is from a cheap rattle can black out. I think there are ways to do it that aren't so bad with a kind of internal louver in the lens.
I still have my 91 LX, on the fence right now between selling and building a 347. |

Nice work. Blacking out lights is the pinnacle of stupid, way to fix it.
More pics inside / outside car would be good. Great road car for long trips traveling from shore to points wherever.

I did some more cleaning and took apart a huge portion of the interior. I'm very happy with how everything is underneath...you can really see how well these cars are built

Don't sand the wheels. Just use some Paint Remover like Aircraft. It will just bubble off. Sanding will leave a bunch of scratches.

Finally got the rear bumper cover off, cleaned, and replaced with factory lights. That concludes replacing parking lights, blinkers, front sidemarkers, rear sidemarkers, and taillights

The front spoiler is a big part of the 928s looks. It's expensive and if you are going for better cosmetics why not start there? Cool car though, and a good year.
