That seller is a moron then. Move on to the next seller at a buck more.

camo 03-13-2013 03:20 PM

Yeah must not wanna sell em too bad..

That one says the same thing..

I'm going to wait until tomorrow to order them when I'm in a better mood and not rushed to get to class.. ^.-

Landseer 03-13-2013 04:47 PM

82 Wiessach.
And you are going to buy CIS injectors?

Am having a glass of wine, but only one.... Guys, isn't the 82 an LJetronic car?

Can we revisit this before you plunk down the pecuniary?

I mean, I've got a set of LJet injectors from an 82 if you have to have replacements.

Am not yet convinced of that.

The richness situation is more likely due to needing a new oxygen sensor. When bad, the Ljet cars suck gas.

Have the engine grounds on the passenger cam cover been adjusted on this car?

Gonzotiki_666 03-13-2013 05:36 PM

My '81 is L jet so I'd guess Chris is correct!

MPDano 03-13-2013 05:54 PM

Uh oh, camo! Are your injectors the same as I pictured or do they have an electrical connector on them?

Also, I need the injector connectors and I cannot find them anywhere.. Any ideas?

Your Injectors are out. Please post a pic of one.

camo 03-13-2013 06:02 PM

I'm not home now, I didn't really look at the injectors, but I do know that there are electrical connectors the injectors came off of that need replaced on the car. If my math is correct, yes they do have electrical connections.

camo 03-13-2013 06:08 PM

I do believe it looked like this one, kind sir.

Can't upload picture from phone right now.. Sorry

MPDano 03-13-2013 06:15 PM

Dude? When you said you we're going to replace them with MB's, then I assume you meant the CIS since there are no MB electronic injectors for our cars. Send your L-Jet injectors to Witchhunter. Good catch Landseer!

camo 03-13-2013 06:19 PM

Sorry MPDano, I didn't know what CIS and L-jet was until today.. -.- I was going by what my neighbor said.. Anyway, thanks Landseer, saved me a couple hundred bucks! :D
Thank you too MPDano!

camo 03-13-2013 07:12 PM

If they're the original injectors, they have 126,XXX miles on em. Should I just replace em? Or clean em? Nothing wrong with em as far as I know... Besides getting 10 mpg..

Landseer 03-13-2013 07:59 PM

For now just use them.
If clogged, the car will run lean.
In my experience, that means it will run hot, high on the gauge.

Needs a new oxygen sensor.

Probably needs to have injectors removed for a different reason: new fuel hoses and injector-to-manifold O-rings.

BoiseShark 03-13-2013 10:26 PM

Agreed, good catch Landseer. Would have made for a very difficult install with very little hope of success. ;)

camo 03-14-2013 12:41 AM

And there's only 1 oxygen sensor per car right?

Landseer 03-14-2013 04:40 PM

Yes, I think the 82 uses a single wire sensor, bosch.
You can use newer ones with three wires, leaving the 2 heater wires disconnected I think.
Research Lambda sensors for more answers.

MPDano 03-14-2013 04:51 PM

I would actually just get the proper one since the connector will already be there. Pretty much plug n play. I got mine from 928 Intl.

Oxygen Sensor 80-82

Item Number : 911 606 123 00

Unit Price: $89.00

Or use that part number here at Pelican to price compare.

camo 03-15-2013 04:04 PM

Ok, thanks Landseer and MPDano.

camo 03-15-2013 04:06 PM

So... A Few of my injectors seem to have small cracks.. Is this serious? I guess I'll find out when I have em cleaned..

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1363388769.jpg

Might be hard to see, its at the Top in the brown.

Will that effect functionality?

On the bright side.. My room smells like fuel..

camo 03-15-2013 04:18 PM

This one might be a little easier to see..http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1363389506.jpg

riber.bentsen 03-17-2013 04:06 AM

You really need to avoid scoring them! This might have ruined your injector, causing leaks where the hose should seal.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1363518315.jpg

Landseer 03-17-2013 07:45 AM

Witchunter replaces the pintle caps, where you are showing the crack.

You might want to hold 400 paper between fingers in one hand and twist the injector (metal end) in it to clean it up a bit. Hopefully you haven't scored them too deeply.

Nothing says redneck like eau de fuel in the living area! We might be cousins!

camo 03-18-2013 11:27 AM

Oh ok thanks guys. Got em all cleaned up and packaged now.

I hope they aren't ruined.. What causes that scoring riber.bentsen?

riber.bentsen 03-18-2013 12:02 PM

Well, I'm guessing whatever tool you used to get the hoseclamps/hoses off?

camo 03-18-2013 12:08 PM

Oh ok. I didn't do it so I don't know what he used to get then off

MPDano 03-18-2013 12:34 PM

If it's an issue, Witchhunter will tell you. Send 'em!

camo 03-18-2013 01:02 PM

They're on their way! Well, as soon as I get to the post office.. Gotta have my parents take me. My car doesn't run so well without injectors..

camo 03-31-2013 09:40 PM

Injectors are on their way back! Should be here tomorrow-ish, maybe Tuesday, they said they cleaned up well and had no issues. Should be up and running Wednesday at the latest and I CANNOT wait to drive it to school again! I cleaned my injectors, replaced the mass air flow sensor O-ring (it was completely flat on one side with dirt in the MAF sensor, probably a big reason why it was running slightly rough and getting 9 MPG), cleaned MAF, replaced injector connectors, replaced plugs, and ran out of money. And I'm done working on her for a while :D
Just gotta fix my sunroof (still) and oil leak.....

By the way, that severed brake sensor thing was what was causing my "Brake pr. (!)"light to come on. replacing that fixed the issue. Now the only light left is my "tail lamp"light..

P.S.
Sorry about all the confusion MPDano, now I understand what was going on ;) thanks for the help!

riber.bentsen 04-01-2013 06:12 AM

If both taillights are working, and you still get the warning, it might be because you have a 5W bulb in one side, and a 10W bulb in the other. The system works by measuring the difference in resistance side-to-side, you see :)

camo 04-01-2013 09:27 AM

Thanks riber.bentsen
I actually read that a while back so I replaced all my bulbs and the light is still on..

Landseer 04-01-2013 09:30 AM

You have to use the correct light bulbs osram / porsche bulbs for the car.
Reason is that the 1156 bulbs are too long for stoplights and will melt / burn the difuser on the inside of the lense. Lots of places call them the equivalent, but they aren't. Not your main issue, but may be your next question.

camo 04-01-2013 09:42 AM

OOOh.. I bought mine at NAPA.. can you get em here on pelicanparts?

Landseer 04-01-2013 03:31 PM

I use 928sRus or international. Pelican is a 911 specialist, but you can try.

camo 04-01-2013 05:11 PM

Ok, doesnt look like they have em here. I'll check those sites, thanks Landseer

camo 04-09-2013 12:20 PM

Can anyone please tell me what these things are? It is somewhat urgent. The hose is not attached to anything and we cannot figure out what the other thing is either. It is coming off of the smog pump. Thanks :)

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1365535169.jpg

neil30076 04-09-2013 12:24 PM

The hose goes into the underside of the air filter box. It's part of the air pump system. That's the diverter valve.

camo 04-09-2013 12:44 PM

Thank you so much! I got everything put back together and I'm having a few issues. Its idling VERY rough and won't continue running if I don't keep it revved. I think I know what's going on now. :)

Mrmerlin 04-09-2013 12:54 PM

FWIW if your having a tail lamp issue,
then also clean and replace the side marker lights,
Do all 4 of them,
its quite common for the rear lights to work and still have an issue ,
as one of the side markers will throw off the balance in the system

camo 04-09-2013 02:19 PM

Thanks mrmerlin, ill do that.

So, are you sure about that hose going to the air filter box? Because there is a hose right next to the one I'm talking about that goes to the air filter box, and there is nowhere else on the air filter box for a hose to go. The hose I'm talking about comes directly off of the divergence valve.
When we start it up the hose has a vacuum so I guess it makes sense that it goes to the AFB but there is nowhere for it to go.

camo 04-09-2013 02:29 PM

I know that this hose goes to the air filter box.
