Yup, you'll need fingers like ET or hands the size of a 5 year old. To make the job a whole lot easier, remove the glass first, then you'll have the room you'll need to do the repair. A door handle break is very common on our cars, so don't think the Spinach is what caused this.

I removed mine for painting without removing the glass. Glass was lowered all the way, door panel was off and outer door glass scraper was off.
Try without taking the door glass scraper off that is a pain you may be able to get down in there.
He needs a replacement handle if the cast metal has broken. Anyone have one??

thanks for the help guys. im guessing 928 International-Left Door Handle Hinge is the part i need to buy to do the repair? and i need to adjust that glass anyways so i guess ill do that while the door is apart lol

Common problem. I found the fix to be easy, once the door panel was off. I believe I did it with the window all the way up. The hardest part for me was snapping on and off the plastic connectors. It's very self expanatory once you get in there.

remove the door panel,
put window down,
remove bolts for the security panel
put window up,
if the handle is good IE no snapped off tang tape it into position on the door with blue tape
Remove the door handle mechanism,
install new mechanism
lubricate the interior door latch with oil
install the security plate ,
put window down install remaining hardware,
install the vapor barrier ,
install the door panel

Well said. Door handle job isn't a particularly fun or straightforward job on the 928.

Good instructions here. This covers everything that comes to mind. Good luck! Enjoy your handle in good health.

Yupper. There was a reason I needed access from the top, which is why I suggested to remove the glass (2 10mm bolts I think). By doing this it eliminated about 80% of my cusswords during this job. ;)

Replacing a door handle hinge is a 928 rite of passage!

Best story I saw was the chap that gave a neighborhood kid $5 to hold it in place while he screwed it in - he was stoked to get the fix done, kid was strutting around saying he fixed a Porsche. Win/win!

You should probably start a new thread as this is totally different. Also, when you do post. Be exact on what is spinning? The key in the tumbler or the electric motor that spins the assembly in door.
