79 928 check engine light
 
I have a 79 928 that is not running good the engine light is on but i have no clue how to check the codes. please help

the 79 has engine codes? I thought it was brainless like my 78....(or perhaps I am brainless)...is it the red light above left of the Tach?

IO think it does there it a box thingy in the engine bay of my 79 and like some wires on like certain parts i think their is a knock censor or just a couple vacuum censors.
