928's on and off our radar

Just thinking about how many 928 owners are online, but how so many cars still pop up for sale nobody knew about, and sell to somebody outside the group and they disappear again. I wonder what percentage of owners are at least lurkers on the main four or five support boards? (here, RL, Roadfly, etc.)

Still at least 12k 928's in the USA, so maybe pretty small number of online owners.

Most owners I have bumped into did not know of the online forums. I don't know how they keep their car running without them.

I don't know but I hope to find a lost 928 in perfect condition for a few bucks someday.

I just missed a deal. 1997 Jaguar XJ8, convert with 6,000 original miles, one owner. Same guy I bought my 928 from. He was going to sell it 2 years ago when it had 2,300 miles but his wife wanted it. At that time he was asking 12K but he just got 15K for it.

Lots of the great deals are totally random events, right time, right place, or somebody you know, but plenty of them are the result of a LOT of proactive hunting, keeping craigslist on a RSS, checking cars.com and autotrader a few times a day, serious hunting.
