rear seat uppers

looking for a set of rear seat uppers. I am toying with this new radio idea. I was looking at my rear seats yesterday, which are usually flipped down. I could easily screw a pair of speakers to them, snake the wire through and under the seat with out it being seen. However, I do not want to screw into my stock seats.

Does anyone have a project, parts, junk car with brown rear seats that are roached?

I saw a pic of someone who screwed an amp on to the back and it looked like it worked, and actually fit perfect. This is where I got this idea from.

Have you considered deleting the rear seats altogether ? Unless you have young kids, why not just delete them ? Deleted the rear seat on the GTS and built in a 10" sub box on the pass side and 2 lift out panels in both the middle and drivers side for storage. Worked out great. Where do you live in CT ? T

Now THAT'S way cool!

I mounted an Alpine Powered Sub in the rear of my 928, and keep the seats down, but, I had toyed with the idea of deleting the rear seats....

Actually if you just install some new speakers in the rear pillars you will improve the sound quite a bit. Then add a sub woofer in the spare tire with it's own amp and you will be surprised how good it sounds. I bought a Bose sub speaker made for a Nissan which fits in the spare tire for about $50 on Ebay. Other people have done this here. You don't need massive speakers in this car unless you want to blow yourself out of it with 180 Db of fender vibrating audio. I also installed a JVC radio. Two and three way speakers are built with different drivers for different frequency ranges, all in one speaker.

3 way speakers in cars are inventions to sell to people who don't understand car audio.

Way means how frequencies are split among different drivers. Full range means one driver does it all, 2 way is woofer and tweeter, and 3 way is woofer, midrange, and tweeter. Typical cheap 3 way is woofer and two slightly different tweeters.

IMHO what works best in a car is a subwoofer to 100hz and a full range from 100hz up. Technically a 2 way, but commonly called satellite and subwoofer.
