4.5 to 4.7 upgrade
Continueing saga of the 4.7 hybrid:
Does anyone know: 1) can I use my 4.5 flywheel/clutch set up on the us 4.7 engine? 2) where can I find a replacement clutch pilot bearing? 3) will everything else bolt up? Thanks, Kerry

The workshop manual describes changes in the clutch actuation mechanism.

If you mean the throw out bearing, i think you can replace the bearing only, if you have a used one....talk to Roger

You should be able to. I did the same swap 4.5 to 4.7 Euro. I mixed and matched clutch components and it still worked. The only thing you have to be careful of is using a later intermediate plate that has 2 rods as timing triggers on it. You can't use a early bell housing or it will hit inside. You'd need a later one that is gooved on the inside.

That's basically what I did. I was using CIS so it had plenty of headroom as far as fuel flow. I would speak with an expert to make sure your l-jetronic will flow enough into the 4.7 at high rpms and not go lean...bad
