4.5 to 4.7 upgrade

Continueing saga of the 4.7 hybrid:
Does anyone know:
1) can I use my 4.5 flywheel/clutch set up on the us 4.7 engine?
2) where can I find a replacement clutch pilot bearing?
3) will everything else bolt up?

1) I think so, don't see why not, emmm, wait min, I recall something is odd about the 79 clutch is that your model year?
2) NLA, not sure, but think so. Roger or Mark would know both answers.

It's an '80us. BTW the LOL makes me very nervous...Is this conversion going to be a PITA?

If you mean the throw out bearing, i think you can replace the bearing only, if you have a used one....talk to Roger

You should be able to. I did the same swap 4.5 to 4.7 Euro. I mixed and matched clutch components and it still worked. The only thing you have to be careful of is using a later intermediate plate that has 2 rods as timing triggers on it. You can't use a early bell housing or it will hit inside. You'd need a later one that is gooved on the inside.

My car is an'80us w/ a 4.5 and L-jetronic injection.
Its my intent to reuse all of the old hardware on the "new" engine ('83 4.7us with euro cams)

That's basically what I did. I was using CIS so it had plenty of headroom as far as fuel flow. I would speak with an expert to make sure your l-jetronic will flow enough into the 4.7 at high rpms and not go lean...bad
