Make sure they use a good new current version Laso pump and Gates belt. No guess on Dist, if its OK, no need, but all that stuff is coming off for the new belt etc (hopefully etc the whole system of gears and pulleys needs a look over.).

Nice looking car, light interior a bit more work to keep clean, but looks nicer to me.

i will check actually on which parts are being used. they are a Porsche specialist and did say they would be using original parts

Porsche specialist isn't the same as 928 specialist, best of luck.

Porsche Dealer around $900, Laso makes them.

If your shop isn't savvy to this sort of thing, this will be the least of the unneeded expenses.

danglerb, yah i know but i do not have unfortuantly a 928 specialist near me. the closes one is 3 hrs away. i'm hoping the ppl i sent my car to know what they are doing as they say they have done work on many a 928.

Educating a non 928 mechanic can make sending a kid to good college look cheap.

3 hrs is a nice drive, Greg Brown in Anaheim has had cars shipped from Europe for him to work on, and VERY happy owners. Want to visit Disneyland, packages may be available.

i am almost regretting it as now they tell me the water pump that came through was the wrong one so waiting for the right one to come in :-(

what have i done. Or is it just my bad luck. they have had my car for 3 weeeeeeeeks now. one excuse after another. I think i will have to take my car back on Monday. this is not acceptable. some thing is wrong that they are not telling me about. 3 weeks to do a belt and pump change. I don't think so!
my list of things to do has taken a serious set back.
