Problem solved
Not a 928-related thing but kinda' funny / interesting.
My daily driver is a Chevrolet 4x4 pickup. I shift into 4wd regularly to keep the parts moving. I did this a few weeks back and it resulted in the worst metal-grinding and clanking sound I have ever heard. My first thought was obviously "great, there goes my 928 fix-up budget"; ever since getting the 928, whenever I spend money on other stuff (like food and the kids' education) I think of what I could have bought for my 928 instead - no wonder I'm so bitter and grumpy all the time. Anyway, I got under the truck last night and discovered that a heat shield had fallen-off the exhaust and was firmly wedged between the exhaust and front drive shaft. I pulled it out and, voila, problem solved. Maybe I will get that water pump this month afterall. :) |
Glad that was all!
