Mock Up Fan Shroud

Ok, I will admit I was tired of cleaning electrical contacts.

I started messing around with more sheet metal.

I have been looking at different profiles for fan shroud and air intakes and took it a step further.
This was the initial vision. It would be a few pounds back on the car and more to unbutton for access. Probably no substantial benefit to air flow, but man I do like the look...

I won't know until "Beta" test.
Under the hood, the profiled edge is slotted. I doubt that is by accident, may be disperse heat? Anybody know?

Looks great, but I think wrong idea. Rubber strip going across above the blue tape seals to the hood when closed, so this plate does?

Could be a bear if the hood release cable breaks.

Porken does a "mat" of the nitrile foam sheeting that goes under the intake scoops and covers the top of the radiator and AC coil for a cold air input. I'd go a step further and run the mat down both sides of the gap between AC coil and radiator.

Functionally I think maybe more gains to be had from sealing the bottom.

Prototype is done.
Those are good points Danglerb, the functionality of the plate is pretty shakey.
This will probably only be a cosmetic piece. Although who knows, if the insertion of a Porken TQring can change air flow -- maybe this would have some merit. This does keep air from bouncing off the deep-lipped insert on the underside of the hood.
I'm going to take her out later and see if any temp. differences, etc.

Cosmetically I think it has to go under the lower hood latch, or at least flush with it.

Don't get me wrong, I "like" the look, but I don't see it as a cold air intake mod.

Looks pretty cool, but the current hood & wetherstripping already does what this does mechanically
