Looking at other 928 today
Owner says this dad put it in storage 10 years age, drain the gas tank and oil out of the engine. Asking $3500 but firmly wants $3000. It's a 1980 auto, interior looks perfect but it's cloth, body just has 2 rust spots but it's very good, odometer is say 14,xxx.xx I'm in the fence about not being about to turn it over. He said someone offered $2800. but I don't know. Thinking about seeing it today. Wanting input and I'll try uploading pics from text app. Thanks

I can't transfer photo text to upload sorry. But like I said Body and interior ARE AT LEAST 98%. I can do all mechanical except if there is a transmission problem. If it was a 5 speed I can work on it. How good were the 1980 auto transmissions?????

So they last longer? Is that a 3 or 4 speed Auto on that year

3 speed auto that year. Earlier 5 speeds are a pain as well, but better valued than the autos. Good luck!

Unfortunately, 4.5l + 3spd auto = Slow

i think its still cheap. buy it. here in london that car as you have discribed it would be twice that ie £3000-4000K (pounds)
only think i would say is the colour.. i would go off it quickly and as a resale point it would be harder to sell. If your buying it to keep dont worry about what needs doing you can do it up slowly, like a house purchase. ask him if you do the deal at your agreed price you want to put oil and fuel in her to fire her up and make sure she runs even if ruff in the beginning. if she has been sat for a while expect to spend at least £1000 to bring her back to a reasonable working order

It looks great. Hope it works out. And as for being slow (4.5L + 3 spd), I think not.
