Lift bars

Greetings,

I haven't noticed any recent postings about the porken lift bars. I'm ready to buy a pair and noticed that the early model years (i have an 81) are no longer available. Anyone have a replacement manufacturer of something along the same lines?

John

I have yet to see mention of any alternatives.

Used show up from time to time, but as I recall Porken used the original jig to make the jig for later models, so no more production unless there is a lot of demand.

Talk to Porken directly and see what he says.

The shape of the early body is difficult to make something stable for, hence the custom shape.

The old early design took twice as long to make and required separate left and right parts. The final straw, though, was the hydraulic bender I used for just the early type fell apart from overuse. There was not enough demand after so many made to justify buying another.

I have it on the list to work on a new design (again) early next year...but unless I can think of something that is easier to make...
