auto shifter question
 

is there any way to make it so th auto shifter goes all th way to 1st gear ?? mine stops at 2nd

Hey Dave - The 928 Porsche with the 4 speed automatic transmission routinely starts off in second gear. I think the decision was for both a little better over all fuel economy in stop and go traffic and because the V-8 engine design just didn't need the first gear grunt under normal driving conditions.

The Mercedes transmission in our 928's are pretty bullet proof - just keep an eye on the transmission fluid level to make sure your baby is happy and has a long smooth shifting life.....:)

yes iv read that b4, and it does all of that, but sometimes it still takes off in 2nd, I can get it to launch in 1st but if I slow down or come to a quick stop it takes off in 2nd, I realy wish there was something I cld do w th shifter to put it in 1st when I want to

sometimes when I put it in 2nd and do a full throttle launch it shifts at 2500 rpm not all th time just about half th time, th other half .... its 5000 rpm , runs sweet when it does that
