Hey folks, for the 928 enthusiast I wanted to share my car. It is a rare specimen being 1 of 91 produced 928's with option code XX8.
For 1992 Porsche updated the 928 for its final 3 years of production to include changes throughout but most notably with a beautiful rear wide body flare. This sole variant known as the GTS is a visual stunner and certainly an icon of design and presence. Little known was this GTS Flare was Available through the Exclusive Department as early as 1990! 91 cars were ordered with this option code XX8 : 1 for USA (Former PCNA Auto Show Car) / 40 for ROW-Euro / 50 for Japan. My car is 1 of 50 Produced 1991 928 S4 Exclusive for Japan. These 50 cars were ordered pretty much identically (except for color) by the sole importer Mizwa. They featured many exclusive department options. They were sold along side standard 928's as a factory mega wide body option. With Strosek / Koenig / Gemballa wide body conversions being popular, this factory "wide body" was a little known variant available to the enthusiast up to 1991 that would later become the new standard 928 GTS (Not Exclusive Department Built) from 1992-1995!
