That may not be such a bad idea, anyways. It might be enough to correct for the 7% underdrive that I get (according to my odometer) using the stock 245/45-16's.

How will you be using the car? If ultimate grip is less important than ride quality, or price, than go with what you can find. If you are track driving, you will want one of those "track tire" sets.. For the street, it matters less imho.

My 944 came with some Fuzion ZR-1s.. They are a fine street tire.. but don't confuse them with being a track tire.

The Fuzions have the sizes you want. I have a set on mine and they are great for a daily driver. The Fuzions are made by Bridgestone.

Fixed it for you!

I also run the Fuzions - good for a street tire, especially for the price.

Yeah, I am going to order a set of the Fuzion's. I will be doing a couple of DE events with the car, so we'll see how they hold up. Until I can find a decent set of track wheels/tires.

just an update, it seems 16" tires are continuing to become more and more rare. i used to run continental extreme contact dw all around, but they have recently discontinued their wider sizes, so now i'm running:

continental extreme contact dw 225/50ZR16 in the front;
Continental*ExtremeContact DW

bf goodrich g-force sport comp-2 255/50ZR16 in the rear;
BFGoodrich*g-Force Sport COMP-2

when the fronts wear out, i'll match them with the bfg 245/50ZR16's for the front.

Toyo T1r have all the sizes for 16" rims for our 951s

205 55 16
225 50 16
245 45 16

these are all the sizes the 951 uses with the standard 16" wheels.

T1R's are a great tire, had them on the last ride, here's another option.
