I ordered the chips from a local Porsche guy that is a Lindsey dealer (HRE). I told him my setup, and he ordered them from Lindsey so I'm not 100% sure on what he actually ordered. I'm going to have to call him to find out, but I would rather have an adjustable FPR anyhow I think...
I just checked my manifest, the chip sold through HRE to you on 6/18 was indeed the DME III chip, requiring 3.0 bar FPR. You can indeed use an adjustable, but when you set your pressure (43-45psi) do so with the vacuum line disconnected and plugged. If you set it with the line connected you will end up with too much pressure, as the vacuum drops the pressure. Likewise, under boost, that line raises the pressure. That is why they are called rising rate FPRs. Make sure the adjustable you buy is indeed rising rate. If it does not have a vacuum line nipple on it, don't use it because it is static and will not fuel properly under boost. The standard 3.0Bar Bosch unit is what I recommend for most people, it's plug and play.

Regards,
Russell

Wow, that helps tremendously. Thanks a lot. I'll have to go ahead and get an FPR then, if I get adjustable I'll go with Lindsey, if not I'll do the Bosch 3.0. If I continue to run the car until the part arrives, will there be any adverse effects?

Since you are not raising your boost, it is unlikely you will do any damage running for a bit with the stock FPR. But just to make sure, you can make minor adjustments by changing the FQS switch mentioned earlier. That is the Fuel Quality Switch, it's a rotary switch inside the DME computer, but you can get to it from the outside using an access hole in the cover. When you pull the floor BOARD (it still cracks me up that it is actual wood) and look at the DME/KLR, you'll find a round plastic plug on the bottom side of the DME. Pop it out, and you can stick a small screwdriver into it and manipulate the switch. The center of the switch actually is not slotted for a screwdriver, it is a triangle hole, but a small screwdriver will work. Just make sure you either disconnect the main connector from the DME, or disconnect the battery first before you stick anything metal in there.

This switch has a total of 8 settings, numbered 0-7. Zero being fully counter-clockwise. First, make sure that is the position it is in, try to go counter-clockwise first, but do not force it. Going clockwise from position 0:

1= 3% more fuel
2= 3% less fuel
3= 6% more fuel

So click it three clicks clockwise to position 3. This gives you 6% more fuel, and a better safety margin until you get your new FPR.

Regards,
Russell
