C2/C4 993 RS Heater Bypass Pipes
I have 4 heater bypass tubes left, and just put one on ebay. This is the last of the batch. If you were procrastinating, now's the time to fish or cut bait! For a limited time, I'm offering the special bro close-out deal - $200 to your door in the lower-48, but I can (and have) ship internationally. PM me today to reserve yours! More details about the part @ http://vintagebus.com/rstube/

Thom, will this fit on my 964 (1990)? Will there be any heating comfort lost from this mod? Reserve one for me!

What exactly does this part do for the 993? What do you lose? I'm assuming most gains come in the form of weight and looks.

Is the A/C lost with this conversion? If the a/c is kept functional i'd be interested.

Thom, I had a chance to look what it's going to take for this r&r. I noticed a few more connections to the stock setup. Yours only has the one port which I believe goes to my distributor ventilation hose. I noticed another hose and also a sensor. Do you know anyone who converted to this bypass that would know where everything else hooks up to?

Schubee, The other small hose goes from the tube to a fitting on the inside bulkhead of the center "taillight" assembly. This provides warm air to clean out condensation inside this assmbly, or so thats what I think it does, any better ideas? The Sensor is for the blower to come on if the temp inside the tube exceeds some gawd awful high temp, seems this would be rendered useless and uneeded with this tube set-up.

can't see why the a/c would be lost when it is only the auxilliary heater fan that is eliminated. Someone correct me if i am wrong. max

Sorry for my ignorance. I wanted to make absolutely sure of that before purchasing one of these. Thanks though for clarifying that point for me.

i'm sure one of the above gentleman (with way more knowledge than me!) will chime in with absolute verification. I'm guessing by your Houston location, you could safely remove a lot of heater pieces!!!

My thoughts exactly. The 15 lbs savings in the rear is very enticing as well.

Sorry to steal your post but if anyone is interested I have an ORIGINAL Porsche bypass pipe available. It's from a 964/993 RS. I was ging to use this but don't have a street 964 to put it on right now. e-mail me at zero9nine@aol.com if interested.
