Cleaning/Testing Idle Air Valve
I have a 964 Idle Air valve (stabilizer) I think could stand some cleaning. Any tips on how to do this? Since it is electrical I doubt immersing it in carburetor cleaner is a good idea!
Also does this valve close all the way when not energized? This one has a small slit open at rest.

No, I would not immerse. There is a technical article in Pelican how to clean a 993 ISV which appears identical to my 964. Very easy job, apply 12 volts when you are done and listen for the actuator to snap open and closed.
